Candidates who lost the IUIU KC elections have accepted defeat and wished good leadership to those who won in the recently concluded polls at the campus.
Talking to the Lens, Hillary Assasira, a member on the campaigning team of Nabukeera Kulthum, who lost the Vice guild post to Lailah Nakitende said that the team is not moving forward to petition for a re-election since it is satisfied with the results.
“As a member on Kulthum’s campaigning team, I want to tell you that we are not going to court for a re-election because we feel that it’s not the way forward. We accept the results and we wish those who won the best of luck…,”he said.
Another contestant, Katongole Abdul Hakim, who was contesting for the guild president post and lost to Yiga Ismail released a statement wishing Yiga a successful leadership era.
“…I congratulate Mr. Yiga Ismail upon a successful journey to being elected to the office of the Guild President. I pray that his leadership to benefits the IUIU-KC fraternity. I wish him Al the best throughout his term in office…,”part of the statement reads.
A few days ago, a rumour circulated among the students that these were not happy with the results because there were technical problems with the electoral system and about 300 students didn’t vote yet they had accessed the portal.
