The Islamic University In Uganda, Kampala Campus (IUIU KC) has released examination timetables for the second and third quarter of the academic year 2020-2021.
The time tables were released a few hours ago in order to clarify on earlier information that had circulated among students saying, they would start with quarter three exams and then do those for quarter two.
According to the officially released time tables, the students will start with the quarter two exams on 6th of the coming November and will end on 14 of the same month. The quarter three exams will start on 27th of the coming November and end on 5th of the coming December.
Talking to The Lens Media, the Faculty Of Science(FOS) coordinator, Engineer Usama Kasagga, explained that it had been discussed with the administration that students would start with quarter three since they would be fresh and then have two weeks of discussions for quarter two but this was not able to work since most of the students had not yet registered for quarter three.
“Students were initially supposed to start with quarter three but since many students had not yet registered for quarter three, it was better to start with quarter two because these had registered and cleared their tuition…,” He explained.
The students will report back to campus on 1st November this year, following instructions from the ministry of Education and Sports. This means that the students have just five days of physical discussion after the reporting date.
However, students were notified by the University administration that only vaccinated students will be allowed to access the campus premises. It is not yet clear whether those that will not have been vaccinated will miss exams since they will not be able to access the campus. The Lens Media is still following this up to know whether students that are not vaccinated will miss exams.
