There is alot of panic in the guild office at the Islamic University In Uganda, Kampala Campus (IUIU KC) over projects that were budgeted for by the outgoing government but have never been done till today.
Led by H:E Omar Muhammad, the government had planned to accomplish several projects including purchasing compound seats, flags, TV sets and many more. A budget was drafted and approved but these project were not accomplished.
As the next government, led by Yiga Ismail, the guild president elect, prepares to swear in on 6th November this year, the previous government is struggling to work on these projects before this date.
Talking to the Lens Media, the Prime minister of the previous government, Hon Joel Jerry confirmed that they are using all to complete the undone projects.
”We have some projects that we need to do before we handover and they include, setting up compound seats, flags, buying a tv set for the guild office plus a digital camera and so many others,” Joel revealed.
Further more the prime minister confirmed to us that on 6th they will unveil all their projects to the students and the event will also be acompanied by an awarding ceremony to adminstators and cabinate members for the work done.
The outgoing government was affected by the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic which left all guild activities in a frozen state till a few months ago when the University opted for online learning. Omar’s government was then left with nothing but to work hard towards satisfying a virtual community.
