The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has urged all universities to consider all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status, on the date of reopening in November.
Talking about the issue, Saul Waigolo, the NCHE spokesperson, told universities to consider putting up vaccination centers instead of chasing away the students and staff who will not have been vaccinated.
“The universities should first put up alternative options like opening vaccination centres at their campuses upon reopening and mobilizing students to vaccinate,” Waigolo said.
A number of universities had notified all their students to go for vaccination since there were not going to let those unvaccinated access the premises.
Only Victoria University had issued clarification that all their staff and continuing students had been vaccinated and the fresher’s would be vaccinated at reporting date.
