One of the most valued points that students picked out in the newly elected guild president of Islamic University In Uganda Kampala Campus(IUIU KC) H:E Ismael Yiga, was “the tuition aid program” that he promised to start up when he gets into the guild office.
In an interview with the Lens Media, H.E Ismael Yiga made it clear that he is going to fulfill his promise and he has already started it. He further explained why he came up with these program.
” I strongly believe that 89% of the parents to our students in IUIU-KC are daily income earners which makes them pay tuition in installments or later fail even to pay due to different challenges. For students, this hearts alot. Imagine studying three or four years and at reaching your finals, your parents do not have money to for you to complete. So that’s why i decided to front the tuition aid program where students who are the victims of the above can benefit and also graduate,”Yiga said.
According to him, the students are assured that this pragram is going to start operating in the university because different organizations are already on board to assist the program.
” I have partnered with different organizations to help us in this cause and so far we have Kecher Africa, Matovu foundation and we are trying House of zZaka and Waqf Uganda, one Umma Uganda among others,” he added.
