The Internal Security Organization (ISO) told Annah Ashaba, the Makerere University student who wrote a poet dubbed “I want to be Museveni’s side chic”, that she needs to start respecting leaders in her writings in order to gain from her art.
Afew days ago, Lt.Col. Emmy Katabazi, the Deputy Director General of ISO, told the press that they met Ashaba and talked about patriotism but asked her to respect leaders.
“I had chat with her and we agreed to have future engagements centered on patriotism. We also agreed that Ashaba needs to be respectful to leaders in her writings,” Katabazi was quotated by one of the news outlets in the country.
The ISO boss also clarified that there was no need for the female poet to meet president Museveni.
Ashaba is a fresh graduate of Arts In Education at Makerere University. Her poem went viral on social media and caught the attention of many literates. She is currently a teacher of English and literature.
