Former Vice president and foreign affairs minister, in the guild government at the Islamic University In Uganda, Kampala Campus(IUIU KC), Mubaraka Alhassan Faskari has urged university students to get involved in the university politics because it is part of learning.
He is one of the longest serving guild officials that the institution has ever had. He served in three guild regimes for four years, from 2017 to 2021, as the minister for foreign affairs and Vice President.
Talking to The Lens Media, he hinted that engaging in politics at the university is an experience that makes one learn the dynamics of the world.
“University politics I take it as a Normal routine or part of learning process, is a ground of exploration where you need to learn and relearn the life after the university because if you look at our life entirely is leadership. Where things are right you will realize the leadership is good, where things are bad you will conclude still is the leadership that is faulty,”Faskari said.
According to Mubaraka, his biggest achievement in university leadership is the sense of being impactful to the lives of many students.
He further hinted that leadership has got alot of benefits that students should not miss out because he has achieved much during his time at university politics .
” Actually I can’t mention how many ministers and personalities I have come across that have helped me alot in life. Learning some basic administrative activities alone is a great achievement, knowing people is another long term investment,” Faskari said.
