Kyambogo University has announced that bags will temporarily nolonger be accepted into lecture rooms following terrorist attacks that happened a few days ago.
The university released a memo a few hours ago, telling students not to attend lectures with bags for fear of carrying explosives.
“In an effort to prevent terrorism in Kyambogo University. it was agreed that students should not be allowed to carry bags and backpacks to lecture rooms,” a memo read.
According to an online source, Ms Mildred Tibananuka, the dean of students confirmed that laptop bags, backbags and other types of bags were not going to be allowed into lecture rooms.
“The purpose of this communication therefore, is to inform you that students shall not be allowed to carry bags into lecture rooms. Students are advised to carry their books in the hands,” the Dean said.
This could be so funny to see students carrying books and laptops in their hands but is a security mechanism that could prevent terrorist attacks from happening at the University.
