The Islamic University In Uganda has barred police from examination checkpoints n order to make students feel safe.
According to an inside source, the administration decided to let students get checked by their lecturers and university supervision
“The administration decided that police should no longer appear at checkpoints because it makes students get scared. The police will be around only to keep calmness and peace at the campus. It may be a fight or a violent quarrel but not at examination checkpoints…,” the source revealed.
One of the students told The Lens Media that she felt relieved to see that there was no police at the checkpoints.
“It was also my surprise that no police officer was seen at the entrancece. I saw only the supervisors. Of course the decision is a good move. It makes me feel at school. Seeing police these days is scary so since they removed it, that’s cool…,” she said.
