HEC Students of Humanity at Islamic University in Uganda(IUIU), has managed to emerge as the winner after scooping 78 percent while HEC Science Students scooped 74 percent in the Inter section Debate.
The Debate took place at IUIU Main Campus in the Main hall under a Motion stated that “All IUIU Students should be allowed to leave University without Restrictions’’. The HEC Arts Students Proposed the Motion while HEC Science Students Opposed the Motion.
In her remarks, Hajat Aiseta Aisha the head Coordinator HEC at IUIU was impressed by the stiff Debating skill exhibited by the Students and she pledged to continue pushing such events at IUIU.
“Indeed I couldn’t expect this from HEC students, though the proposer won but the competition was so stiff and in future we hope that our HEC Students will Represent IUIU in other Debates may be cross country because I have confidence in them,” Hajat Aisha said.
In an interview Odomongo who was among the proposers of the Motion expressed his gratitude of emerging as the winner in this Debate and he promised to continue Debating lifting IUIU Flag.
“ I will continue debating as long as am given opportunity because it has been my habit since primary and am so glad for receiving this trophy as winners,’’ He said.
Higher Education Certificate (HEC) is one year course under the Faculty of Arts and social Science (FASS), mostly done by foreign Students in order to be qualified to pursue a Bachelor in any course at University.
