Hasifu Ssekiwunga, the former presenter at STV, who has been hosting the Sharp Talk show featuring Tamale Mirundi, has joined the mob that has left SK Mbuga’s television for better pay in other media houses and greater opportunities.
Ssekiwunga, commonly known as mutabani, is said to have reported for work at the Mengo based BBS Terefayina today morning. One of the TV’s famous reporters Culton Scovia welcomed him.
“Welcome to the team, mutabani Ssekiwunga Hasifu, tukwanirizza mu buwereza ewa beene,” Scovia posted.
The Luganda news anchor is an alumnus of The Islamic University In Uganda and a director of Hasy Advertising Agency.
The tornado that has swept talented and experienced workers from STV in recent months is not yet defined but reports say it’s financial.
It should be recalled that former Uganda Journalists Association(UJA) president, Bashir Kazibwe, now Kawempe South member of Parliament, who was also at the Bunga-based media Enterprise is rumored to be the proprietor of Nyc Television. Elija Turyagumenawe another news reporter at NBS is reported to have been at STV.
Adams Mayambala, Simon Chris Makanga, Ramla Katumba, and Suhail Muhabi have been shipped to SEE TV. Many other workers have left STV and many more could follow. Some employees revealed that this rotates around the poor pay.
