The head coach of the Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU) football Club Hurana Keba has revealed that they are set and focused at winning the 2022 University league. Coach Keba said this after the release of the list of universities that have submitted their documents for the University Football league.
“Our target is to win the trophy of this years university football league. We cannot say that we very prepared since a University team that needs getting players from all the four campuses to stand as on team and we have been in exams,”he said.
“I have been lucky that I have managed to submit twelve players. By the end of this week we will be in position took make the 24 players that the club is required to have,” He added.
IUIU SC is one of the fifteen universities that have so far submitted their documents and confirmed to participate in the 2022 university Football League.
For a player to be allowed to play in the university league one should be a university student with all the requirements like the University identity card, fully registered and even prove that he really attends lectures and even the age matters.
A player must be a university student with the university ID, registered and presents the registration number to prove, sites for exams and then age where one should not be above twenty five years and not below the age of eighteen. No player that futures in big and super league is allowed to play university football. He said.
It is now two years since the university league was last played. IUIU SC only played two games in the groups and their first game was against Kumi University and IUIU SC registered their win of 2-0 and the other game was between KIU which ended barren draw of 0-0.
They are also aiming at playing in the federation of East African University Sports and also in the Federation of African University sports.
