The Islamic University in Uganda, main campus, Mbale has started its orientation activities for the newly admitted students which is scheduled to last for one week starting from (21st march 2022- 25th march 2022).
The activity has been organized by the university administration in conjunction with the Islamic University Students Union (IUSU) government.
The students who are being oriented were admitted for the March intake and this is the first time the main campus is having this intake.
In today’s session, the students were addressed by Mr Ndagano Karim who represented the Academic Registrar, The Station Manager IUIU FM, Mr Mayanja Yusuf Musisi, and the IUSU General Secretary, Abdulnur Nuhu.
In his speech, Mr Ndagano urged the students to endeavour to register on time as failure to do so will lead to payment of additional fee for late registration. He also tackled on the issue of lecture attendance, change of course and how a student can apply for a dead year.
On the other hand, the Station Manager of IUIU FM, Mr Mayanja Yusuf Musisi urged the newly admitted students to use IUIU FM for communication purposes as the station has a variety of shows which can generate a lot of information to the students.
He also added that the radio management is ready to receive and skill any students who are interested in working with them regardless of the course they are pursuing .
“we welcome any of you who would like to work with us or be skilled in broadcast, regardless of the program you are undertaking.”, he said.
Orientation continues tomorrow with speeches and guidance from the sports department as well as the ERP office.
