Ugandan reggae singer Maddox Ssematimba pulled off a powerful Performance that left revelers yelling for more at the East African Meat Carnival that happened yesterday (26th February, 2022) at the Uganda Museum.
The “namagembe” singer kept revelers in ululations as they sang alongside him, pronouncing his name like he was another the next Jesus.
Earlier, the event which was a fusion of meat and drinks kicked off with the arrival of revelers from all corners of East Africa. The best music from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda kept them on deck as the enticing look of the roasted meat wiped their pockets.
Barbecue from chefs Mark Kaheru and Mozes kept revelers chewing as they sipped different drinks, both sober and those that were not.
When top deejays including Sir Aludah, Deejay Jo, Deejay Mary Jo, DJ Cisse, DJ Xzyl and DJ Mujo pulled off their professional skills, revelers could not resist. All they were left with was to break the laws of silence.
When artists like, Queen Sheebah and Mun G took their energy to the stage, the crowd became wild. You would barely differentiate between a Kololo resident from a Namuwongo grown-up. It was a mixture of fashions, colours and sexes. All that was visible were the movements from west to East and North to South, in response to the music that was being played.
Below are some of the moments at the carnival.
