Two teachers at Lubiri High School have been charged with neglect following the viral video in which students of the school were “dancing” aboard the school bus on June 10.
According to the police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the teachers that were on board were so negligent and therefore were to blame. He added that the school has been ordered to suspend them.
Enange also revealed that the students that were involved in the act were to be suspended and disciplined.
“As a result, we are recommending to the school management, the immediate suspension of responsible students who participated in the indecent behavior and those who recorded and posted the videos on social media,” says Enanga.
And added, “Although the driver did not solicit the number of students, which is excusable, it was not appropriate for the school to assign only two teachers, who failed to properly supervise the bus activities”.
He asked all schools, guardians, and parents to be more vigilant not to allow such incidents to happen again.
“As we conclude, we call upon all schools, to take all necessary steps to ensure robust and reliable systems for preventing, reporting indiscipline, abuse, neglect of students and transparent dialogue with all stakeholders, especially parents and guardians.”
