The National Unity Platform (NUP) on Tuesday unveiled a new site for the party’s headquarters in Makerere Kavule, Kawempe Division in Kampala.
Currently, the party office has been operating from Kamwokya at the premises to the party president.
In his remarks while addressing the press after unveiling the site, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu the party president says this is a clear indicator that the party is here to stay and to liberate Uganda.
“Many people were doubting us, they were calling us a ‘wave’. Whatever you call us, I want to inform you that we are here to stay and I urge every NUP member to defend our new structure,” Kyagulanyi said.
Mathias Mpuuga the Leader of Opposition in Parliament said NUP now has a permanent home, which signifies that their struggle is permanent.
“Our struggle is a permanent struggle for restoring sanity and a sense of permanent democracy in Uganda,” Mpuuga said.
Meanwhile, Joel Ssenyonyi the mouthpiece of NUP revealed that now the Kamwokya offices will continue to operate as a training center.
“We have future plans to perhaps make (Kamwokya offices) a training center for our people. Today, we are here to do the groundbreaking of our new offices,” he said.
